PrestaShop is very simple in use e-commerce solution. It has user- friendly interface. PrestaShop has a good number of features. Having a very powerful back-end, store admins allows to manage the inventory, orders, customers & payments easily. The system offers you unlimited categories, sub-categories & image pictures. You can add sub-admin users with different access rights. It means that one admin can track the inventory only and another one can process the orders. But also, I've downloaded Store Manager for PrestaShop (prestashopmanager.com). It has a great option - bulk updates. This is very good for stores with a large anmount of products.

I tried asking the developer some questions. I tried asking him some questions about gateways and the ways you could process transactions and got flippant answers as well as cut in his forum.
I was 99% ready to go with this plug in- and hire him to do some custom work but I guess he has enough business cause he certainly won't be getting mine.
It seems like a good plug in as long as you'll never need any support.
Meanwhile
Does anyone have a WordPress cart solution they *would* recommend that has decent support?

Hi, the prestashop is quite attractive with the apperance and the functionality. Here, I'd recommend you another free open source shopping cart——TomatoCart. As far as I am concerned, it is comparable to prestashop due to the destop-style admin panel and fully comprehensive features. You will find it a useful tool after you check it out!

For someone starting their online business - starting small is a safe piece of advice to follow. So if you have 20 products or less, GoDaddy's starter kit is a good fit. They offer free hosting, tons of customizable templates, and just the free advertising credits are worth the low price of $9.99 a month. With just a little over the price of standard hosting, you get so many extra options. If you don't have a really good reason to skip this offer then snap it up!

Prestashop has been growing and improving extremely fast, both in number of users / forum members, and in development / features added.

I am an English Moderator on the Prestashop forum, and I see many people that are far less tech savvy than me that manage to install and customize their own shops, and install themes, modules and modification with little or no help.

The Prestashop forum has been growing rapidly as well, it reached nearly 50,000 members, and is by far the best place to get help or questions answered, usually within a short period of time.
Make sure you search the forum first, because many quaestions have already been answered...

I have many useful modules for Prestashop on my store (http://www.presto-changeo.com/), like a filter module, a translation module (which I used to translate my site to 15 other languages), and an attribute wizard module that lets you customized your attributes similar to apple’s website.

There are also many Prestashop tips and useful information on my site, worth checking out...

"Ejunkie made it quick and painless for IconBuffet to offer its digital icon collections as a secure download. It saved us a lot of time and expense, allowing us to launch our website quickly without the hassle of creating our own secure shopping cart from scratch".

FunnyEmployeeAwards.com has used e-junkie for six months to sell both a digital download (eBook) and tangible goods (trophies). We’ve stayed with them because of ease of use, excellence in delivering downloadable products, and low price. There are some cons, though, especially around the area of thank you emails.

If you have multiple tangible products for sale, you may want to look elsewhere. But as the owner of a site that sells only 3 products, I have been extremely satisfied. E-junkie is absolutely perfect if you have software, an eBook, or other digital download for sale. Try e-junkie today!
