While the ASP.NET version of this software seems good, the CF version is incomplete and does not have the features advertised. We were forced to switch carts after a month of development because of various roadblocks including but not limited to the server shutting down and the site not responding.

After a rather thorough evaluation, I have selected AbleCommerce for at least my next project. The Admin interface is beautiful and has a nice list of features. The E-Commerce portion of the user side is very well done, highly skin-able (using Master Pages and a couple other techniques), and the checkout workflow has all the features I need while still being very clean. Source to the API can be bought for $500 but you generally won't need it. There are some 3rd party modules available but there's not currently a large market for these. The biggest glaring weakness of AbleCommerce I've found is their CMS capabilities are very limited and not at all well suited for a non-technical user to make most site content updates.

AbleCommerce is definitely one of the best shopping carts around, especially in it's price range. The cart by itself is extremely powerful and the coding is very flexible and easy to expand and customize. AbleCommerce should not be overlooked, whether you have a small, medium, or even large company. We have clients using the cart with as little as three products and as many as 100,000+ products. We have also built custom integration with third party accounting and inventory packages, including Mail Order Manager. You won't find a better package for your money than AbleCommerce!"
